This has been a ridiculously busy week with a ton of restaurants, home decisions, and wedding planning! Let's get to the recap!
Precap (jump to):
- Sights: Izalco, AnQi Gourmet Bistro & Noodle Bar, Utopia
- Eats: Woodburning, Picking out home upgrades, Taste of Downtown Long Beach, Make Collectives
I was buying some supplies, and found myself next to Michael's. I couldn't help but popping in, especially because I had a gift card! After hemming and hawing, I bought this woodburning tool since I thought it would be an interesting way to decorate my woodworking projects.
My man made this bullseye. Not bad!
You might remember from this week's announcement that we found a new house! It was time to pick a few new finishes, but we decided to keep everything pretty standard and DIY projects along the way. YESSSSSS! Oh, can you tell that I'm excited?
On our way back, we stopped at Izalco Restaurant to have some pupusas. Check out all of the delicious food on The Episodic Eater and to see more delicious dishes, like the Nuegados Salvadoreños, a delicious cassava cake!
On Monday, my sister came down to have dinner with the family, and announced that she is engaged! We had dinner at AnQi Gourmet Bistro & Noodle Bar, and it was heavenly! This is just about half of the spread that we had, and you will want to see the rest, including three delectable desserts, delicious steak tacos, and gorgeous tuna tacos on The Episodic Eater.
On Wednesday, we headed out to eat and found the Taste of Downtown Long Beach event just outside the restaurant we were headed to: Utopia. It was a nice chance to chat about wedding planning, even without my sister there! Check out the whole dinner on The Episodic Eater. :)
Afterwards, I popped across the street to Make Collectives because I remembered that Concrete Geometric had some of her beautiful items there! I just had to Instagram this picture. :)
I bought this pretty cuff and chatted with Matt & Kat, the owners. I definitely have to stop by and take a proper tour of the space soon!
Overall, definitely a super busy week for us, and I can't wait to slow things down a bit.... or at least I hope so!
Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?
