Monogrammed Glass Cookie Jar ~ Diane's Vintage Zest!

Monogrammed Glass Cookie Jar

Last month, I was invited to a friend and her husband's birthday party.  Yes, they have the same birthday!  The year before, I made a beautiful (and time-consuming) nectarine tart from scratch.  I knew that I would not have as much time to get a gift together AND I needed it to be a joint gift, which made it a bit harder.

They were married less than a year ago (I wore this dress to their winter wedding), so I decided to do something a little sneaky.  I stole the monogram from their wedding invitation!  It was for a good cause, of course.  :)

In the end, I made a Monogrammed Glass Cookie Jar for them to enjoy their sweet life and sweet desserts together!

I used Silhouette Studio to trace the monogram from a scan of their invitation.  Then, I used the vinyl as a stencil for the glass cookie jar I purchased.

Next, I filled it with cookies.  Ordinarily, I would have made the cookies myself.  However, with no time on the clock, I filled it with my favorite storebought ginger snaps.  Delish!

As always, I included the "sticker" of the design as a bonus gift.  :)

It's not a tutorial, but I figured that some of you might like this idea for a future gift, or even for your own cookie jar.  Also, it is a wonderful way to dress up what would be a boring storebought gift.

  1. Such a great idea!! Will have to d this for some friends!

  2. Very thoughtful more reason I need to buy a Silhouette. I am new follower from the bloglovin blog hop.

  3. I had to finally give in too! Well, I got mine as a birthday present, so it wasn't a totally difficult choice. :)

  4. I don't have experience with the Cricut, but at the time I got mine, the Silhouette computer software allowed for more customization. Not sure how they stack up now, but I love my Silhouette and can't recommend it enough!

  5. I love this is as a gift idea! Of course, I love anything with a monogram on it. And when you pair it with cookies - there's not much better :). I just pinned it. I hope you'll pop o on over to the Link it or Lump it Link Party and share your monogrammed cookie jar there!
