Easy Painting Tip from Heather!

I have shared just a few painted DIYs on the blog so far, so I definitely consider myself a painting newbie.  However, I plan on doing more with the new house soon, so I am scrounging for tips everywhere that I can.

Luckily, Heather from Woods of Bell Trees, has a super useful tip to share with you today!  Let's get to it.  :)

Easy Painting Tip on Diane's Vintage Zest!

If you're like me you paint and you paint a lot. Even if you don't paint all that often, if you've touched one drip of the stuff you know the woes that come with it. My most dreaded paint issue is when I reach the bottom of the project, whether it's a furniture piece or a craft, because other than throwing a piece of parchment paper underneath it you will absolutely get paint on the surface underneath your project! And then what about the inevitable paint pile up at the bottom of your paint endeavor?

One option is to teeter the item around while you paint and hope you don't drop it and ruin it, or worse drop it on yourself!  Believe me I have had my hair coated in paint one too many times, that's not a good option!  Enter Painter's Pyramids.

I don't remember the first time I came across Painter's Pyramids, but I do remember praising the invention. I dreamt of owning a set; they're not expensive, the're only around $10 I just thought it was excessive. Finally one day when I was in a buying mood or maybe I had enough of the ruined paint projects, these little guys came home with me.

When I painted my kitchen table I use the pyramids to prop the table up and didn't get paint all over my tile; paint comes off of tile pretty easily, but not the grout. Recently I painted a shelf from my little Piccolo cabinet and completely forgot about the pyramids until it was time to set the shelf down to dry. I was so frustrated and stressed out because I didn't know where I was going to put the wet shelf. With one hand balancing the shelf and the other searching for the pyramids I finally got it set up where it could safely dry. If I had remembered to set them up in the first place I would have saved myself time and frustration and avoided the potential for smears of pink paint all over the office.

So if you love to paint, but loathe the issues listed above, Painter's Pyramids will save you many hours of cleanup and irritation. You can find them at most hardware stores and Amazon. You know what the bet part is? No more paint all over my counters, meaning they don't need so much scrubbing which in turn means my counters will last longer saving money down the road. So $10 saves time today and money tomorrow. I hope this little tip will save you as much time and frustration as it has saved me!

Thank you so much Diane, for having me!

Omigosh, this is such an aha moment!  I definitely could use this for my Industrial Pendant Light or my Upcycled Mason Jar lids.
