Although I should probably share the next completed woodworking project after the wood piece basket and scrap vase I made, I wanted to end with a bang! So sit tight until next week for my favorite project, but for now, I'm going to share the last thing I made before my class ended.
The fun thing is that it is still in progress, so I'm excited to finally decide exactly how to finish it!
I started with a bunch of really long pieces and cut them into smaller pieces, some at an angle.
I used a chop saw for this part of it. Take a look at all of my scraps!
I ended up with a stack of lovely pieces all ready to go!
Then I glued together each side of the legs in an X-formation.
All done!
Then, I needed to sand down the legs and made sure they were level.
Next, I attached the legs together with a center piece held together with a few pieces of dowel.
Here's how I did that!
Then, I clamped the pieces together after gluing it to make sure it would dry good and tight.
And that's it for the legs!
I cut down my pieces for the top of the stool, and that's actually where I stopped...
The only thing I have left to do is secure the top, add the foam and fabric, then paint or stain the legs. I think I know how I want to finish it, by painting the legs black and adding a toile fabric I have from my stash... but it could change by the next time I get to the shop. :)
How would you finish my X-leg stools?
